Good news everybody! I have now finished my bachelors degree in business at the university (at least I handed in everything and I’m now hoping I’ll pass) and spend the last couple of weeks planing the ultimate trip and booking a lot of flights. In little more than two months on September 13th I’ll be boarding my first plane on an intense 7 month trip all the way around the world.
First stop is going to be Dubai, not only because Emirates offers the cheapest flights to Asia but because I have always wanted to see this probably very impressive town. After a few days I’ll enter Asia in Hong Kong. Next stop is Peking where I can stay for 72 hours without a visa, which is exactly what I’m going to do. The same is true for my next stop, Vietnam, where I can stay for 15 days. I’m planning on entering in Hanoi and leaving via Ho-Chi-Ming City going to Bangkok.
After about two months in Southeast Asia I have to be in Singapur on 29th of Novembre to get on a plane to the next continent: Australia. I’ll be starting in Melbourne and explore the country for a month and after celebrating New Years in Sydney I’ll be leaving for Auckland, New Zealand on January 3rd. I’m going to spend another month there before again heading on.
This trip will actually be a time travel since I’ll be leaving Auckland on Thursday evening and arrive at my next stop in the good old US of A or more precisely Honolulu on Hawaii as early as Wednesday morning. How cool is that? After two and a half week my going on to mainland USA with a short two day stopover in Los Angeles before flying south. I’ve been to the USA many times before so I decided not to spend a huge part of the trip there but instead heading to Costa Rica to explore Central America for a bit.
In the middle of March the last stop will be Havanna, Cuba. I’ve always wanted to go there and since this country will be going through a lot of changes now that they again begin to open up towards America I thought now is the perfect time to experience a last bit of authentic cuban culture. Finally on March 31st I’ll be boarding one last plane to go back home to Germany.
I can’t even describe how excited I am to do this incredible trip. You all now how much I love traveling with my main goal to one day visit every country in the world. At first I just wanted to go to Southeast Asia for few months but then I thought since I have the time and I’m already over there I might as well visit Australia and then of course I have to visit New Zealand and so one and so forth. Well I thought I now have the most time I’ll ever have, having just finished university. Once I’ve start working for real, who knows when I’ll ever have that much time again. So all around the world it is.
I know 7 months isn’t really a long time for this type of trip (well unless you are Phileas Fogg) and i’ll be a lot of stress, I’ll probably have to be on the road every other day. But I have no doubt it’s going to be legendary. I’m going to have so many new experiences, meet so many new people and in the end take an incredible amount of pictures. You can follow me on this blog where I’ll be posting updates and stories and pictures along the way as well as some tips and tricks as how to become the ultimate traveler (well or at least someone who hopefully survives traveling around the world in 7 months).
In the next couple of weeks I’m going to post some updates on my planing and some insights as on how I’m going about this and what I’m going to pack and so on. Once all this is done and the 13th of September is here a lot more awesome is going to come. In the end I’m just going to work on my dream and who knows what legendary things are going to happen if you book a flight, grab your camera and just go.
