Picture of the Day 02.03.2016
Traveling in Costa Rica seems to involve a lot of boats. To get from Santa Teresa to Jacó I once again took a combined bus-boat-bus journey. It started with a bus from Santa Teresa to Montezuma and since it was part of the boat trip it took less than an hour instead of the 4 hours with the public bus. That's where I boarded the small boat that took me over to the mainland from the peninsula. There is no such thing as a pier in Costa Rica, the boats just drive up to the beach and you jump on. And that's just the start of the many many times you will get wet, everything will get wet. The boat is tiny and fast and there are a lot of waves. Fortunately they put your bags in a plasticbag to keep them dry....unfortunately my plasticbag had a hole and my whole bag got wet....well I had to do laundry anyways. All in all its not just a great adventure it also saves you a lot of time compared to the public bus. Jacó itself is rather boring, it mostly just lives of the big hotels and the beach, that's where I spent my day.
