Picture of the Day 04.01.2016
My first full day in New Zealand and wow do my feet hurt. I got really lazy in Australia because I would just use the car all the time or the fantastic Sydney Metro System. Well now I'm back to my old and preferred style of just walking everywhere. My feet just haven't gotten the memo. First I went to the Auckland domain to look at the museum but decided against going in as it turned out to be to expensive. After some food I went to Mt Eden which offers a fantastic view of the whole city as it's the highest of the old volcanoes the city of Auckland stands on. I walked back down and actually all the way down to the harbour which I wanted to photograph later. Well it's the same routine as in Sydney, I research the location during the day and (if I have the time) come back later for the right light. Which meant after the harbour I went back to the hostel to grab my tripod and then all the way back again to grab this picture. If you have a rough idea (or a map) of downtown Auckland you'll know that all those places aren't particularly close by. But I enjoy it and eventually got a nice picture which made it all worth it. Tomorrow: Middle Earth!
