Picture of the Day 05.02.2016
After a day of just relaxing at the beach it was now time for some culture. So I went and visited Pearl Harbor today. To do so you can either join one of the many tour companies, get on a bus with about 50 seniors and have them drive you to there and get your tickets for a lot of money. I chose the alternative which is getting on a public bus for 2,50$. It might take a while since the bus seems to stop every minute at the next bus stop but it'll take you there, it took about 2 hours in my case. Once you reach Pearl Harbor you can get a free timed ticket for the Arizona Memorial, I got really lucky here and squeezed in with a tour group right after I arrived, and a small museum is also for free. To visit the other memorials, a submarine and a battle ship you have to pay an entrance fee. I just went with the free things. It was really interesting to see and learn more about what happened there. It is of course very patriotic but nicely done and really worth the visit when you are on Oahu. After all the history it was once again time for the beach and the sunset and photos.
