Picture of the Day 07.02.2016
Sometimes you have to get up early to get the best photos. That means around 5 in the morning and then take about a half an hour drive to the beach where you have to set up the camera wait for another half hour while trying your best to avoid the waves. At first it didn't look all that promising with a lot of clouds hanging around the horizon blocking the sun but as you can see it broke through a bit higher up for a great photo. Those moments make all the early mornings and lost sleep worth it. Although there was one difference this morning to when I usually go out, I wasn't alone. I joined Oahu Photography Tours who took me around the island not only showing me this great sunrise spot but many more great spots I would have never been able to find on my own. We were just a group of four people which meant you always had enough time at each spot to take the photos you wanted to take without getting in the way of each other. Especially since I always ignored any instructions and just went on shooting the way I wanted to anyways. Besides the sunrise point we visited some beautiful bays and forests and ended up at the north shore where you'll find some crazy waves and even crazier people surfing them. Those photos follow later. Oh and it is also Super-Bowl today, I didn't watch the game but it was nice that the roads where a lot emptier than normal and even Waikiki Beach seems less crowded. American sportsfans do have their advantages.
