Picture of the Day 09.02.2016
No visit to Hawaii would be complete without a traditional Hula Show and good thing there is one for free every other night directly at Waikiki-Beach. It's rather a shame that I didn't found out about that till it was almost to late but I made it there in the end and that's what counts. The Hula was definitely one of the things I really wanted to photograph here. It is just so typical Hawaiian just like the beach and surfing. So if you are in Waikiki make sure to catch this show. It's for free so why shouldn't you go? My other adventure this day was a rather disappointing hike to the Maona Falls. The problem was that it has been so dry in Oahu for the last days that the falls carry almost no water. The nature around them is a really beautiful rainforest and the falls are really high so I guess if they carry enough water it is quite the sight. Unfortunately not today. But what made it really disappointing is that I walked for about 2 hours all through Honolulu to get to the trail as I wanted to save some money on the but. Well I did see some other parts of the town like the university for example but mostly it was just residential area, rich and poor. Well I only did it one way and then took the bus back into town afterwards. So today's lessons are: Inform yourself about the water in the waterfall before you go and never miss out on a free Hula show.
