Picture of the Day 12.01.2016
I’m finally back in WiFi after some crazy days. The first stop after leaving Raglan was at the Waitomo Caves. A whole system of caves full of rock-formations, waterfalls and most importantly glowworms. I spent almost 4 hours in there abseiling waterfalls, climbing rocks and squeezing through tiny holes up to 18m underground. It was amazing! But as you can imagine not a place to bring a camera, not even a GoPro...so yea I have no pictures to show for from this great experience. In the evening we arrived in Mourea to stay the night with a Maori family. Great and really nice people and I learned how to do a Hakka...oh and slept in the meeting room with 40 other people and no wifi of course. I took pictures here but nothing good enough to show here. Well the GoPro footage will be included in the video eventually. That gets us to this morning: Rafting! But not just in any old river, no I went down the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world at 7m. Incredible fun and I was the only one in my raft who did not fall out. Unfortunately I did not have the right mount for my GoPro so I couldn’t use it, well the experience counts. As if I hadn’t done enough already I went Zorping in the afternoon. A Zorp is a big inflatable ball with some water inside, you will get in there and roll it down a step hill. Sounds crazy but is unbelievable fun. I did take some videos here but all in all I had a great day full of incredible experiences and no pictures to show. That’s a first but sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment. Anyways that’s why there is photo of the Bridal Veil Falls here today. Tomorrow I’ll be exploring some volcanoes and geysers, that means lots of photos are to come.
