Buddha and the 1-Month Anniversary
Picture of the Day 13.10.2015
This is it: Exactly one month ago today I boarded my first flight taking me to Dubai to start this incredible journey. To me it feels like that was ages ago. It's just unbelievable how much things I saw, people I met and experiences I made. Think about it: I visited seven new countries in just one month. I had months back home were I literally did nothing the whole time. But that's why we travel, time is so short but if you experience incredible new things every single day it just seems to stop and only move very slowly.
I know there were also a few bad things and constantly being on the move can get exhausting but still the good just outweigh the bad by the much. I already have so many great stories to tell, damn I will probably never stop talking once I get back. So one month down, six legendary ones still to come.
The picture was taken at The Temple of the Emerald Buddha at The Grand Palace in Bangkok. The statue itself is covered in little bits of gold put on by believers as an offering. Over here you'll see a lot more people still actively practicing their religion as compared to when you go to christian churches in Europe. On the overcrowded ferry back down the river I even had an old lady praying the whole trip (really makes you trust the quality of Thai boats now, doesn't it?)
