After the classic cars in Wettenberg a few weeks ago, I once again went to shoot something old, only this time it was motorbikes. In Schotten, a small town in Hesse an annual racing event with classic motorbikes is held. I went there this Saturday during the practice day for photographs.
Although they were only practicing, they are still going full speed and it takes some getting used to to keep up with them with the camera. But after a view rounds I had it figured out and managed to get some nice panning shots to show the movement.
During the event they race bikes in all kinds of different categories from small 50ccm up to bigger bikes and the ones with sidecars. The weather was great and even during practice a lot of spectators were around. It's definitely worth a visit during the races on Sunday.
All the pictures were taken with my Nikon D750 and the 28-300mm lens. Because of the bright sunlight I often had to go down to Iso 50 to get the long enough shutter speed needed to show some movement.
